St. Patrick’s Day party tablescape hosts the green, the gold, and of course the Irish coffee!
St. Patrick’s Day Centerpiece
Headbands and boas come together for a festive DIY St. Patrick’s Day centerpiece. First, start with a glass vase (8-9”). Gold and amber look best. Next, wrap a frilly boa scarf around the base of the vase. Lastly, hang a couple of festive headbands on the vase. This super simple DIY centerpiece doubles as party favors too!
Gold coins overflow dessert glasses that sit alongside the vase centerpiece.
Cordial Plate Decor
Use a cordial glass as the plate décor and ready guests for some Irish coffee. Napkin rings make nice looking holders for the cordial glasses especially when set atop the dessert plate.
As you’ll see in the tablescape photos, coffee mugs replace wine and beer glasses. Miniature bottles of spirits (not pictured) can be set at each plate for guests to mix their own coffee. For the kids, fill the cordial with whip cream, colored green and serve hot cocoa.
Pocket Napkins
A simple way to hold silverware is with pre-folded pocket napkins. Since most are sold in bulk, choose a solid color for multi-holiday use and dress it up with a festive sticker.
Fun & Shenanigans
Let the fun & the shenanigans begin with accessories everyone can fancy. Beads and party glasses are always favored, but sprinkle in some mini hats and lapel pins too!
Other fun table decorations for St. Patrick’s day include green rubber ducks and Irish birds!
March 17th-St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated annually on March 17th, the day of St. Patrick’s death (461). Among the many legends of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland is known for bringing Christianity to Ireland. The shamrock, a traditional symbol of St. Patrick, relates to his teachings of the Holy Trinity with the three-leaf clover.
St. Patrick’s Day is a day to celebrate all things Irish from food and drink to music and dancing. In conclusion of this St. Patrick’s Day post, I leave you with this Irish saying:
If you’re lucky enough to be Irish…
You’re lucky enough!
Irish you a Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
